Southampton want Leeds star, but face a tough task to pull off a deal.

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is wanted by Southampton.
Alan Nixon reports in The Sun (14/4 p61) that Phillips is being pursued by the Premier League side.
Leeds are determined to fiercely resist the Saints’ advances for the homegrown talent.
If Leeds win promotion, then a sale of Phillips is off the table.
The Whites already have a play-off spot secured and are four points clear in second, holding an automatic promotion spot with four games remaining.
If Leeds did end up missing out on promotion, the report states the Whites would hold out for a £20 million fee from Southampton.

Phillips has been one of Leeds’ key players this season under Marcelo Bielsa.
As well as playing in midfield he has also lined up at centre-back.
Southampton’s hopes of signing him don’t look good at this point, but their interest underlines what a good job the young star has done this season.
