According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic full back Jeremie Frimpong is wanted by Southampton as well as a number of Championship clubs.
It’s claimed that Southampton are keeping tabs on Frimpong ahead of possibly making a move for the right back in the near future.
Southampton have been regular shoppers at Celtic in recent times, signing Fraser Forster, Victor Wanyama, Virgil van Dijk and Stuart Armstrong from the Bhoys.
With Saints-owned Mohamed Elyounoussi on loan at Celtic, Southampton seem to have been impressed with Frimpong’s displays alongside the Norwegian.
Celtic have allegedly held discussions with Frimpong about a new contract, but no agreement has yet been reached.
A move to the Championship seems unlikely; Frimpong has impressed for Celtic, bagging three goals and six assists in 41 games for the Bhoys from right back.

The 19-year-old cost Celtic just £350,000 in 2019, and whilst the deal with Manchester City may rise to £1million, the Dutch youth international has been a bargain.
Southampton could view Frimpong as competition for Kyle Walker-Peters at right back, but Celtic will now hope to get the teenager tied down to a new contract.
