Southampton are reportedly keen on Omar Elabdellaoui.
According to the Daily Mail, Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl wants to bring Olympiakos right back Omar Elabdellaoui to the club in January.
The Saints have endured a mixed start to life under Hasenhuttl, winning two and losing three of his first five games in charge since replacing Mark Hughes.
Southampton remain mired in a relegation battle, and the Austrian will almost certainly be looking for new signings in January to bolster his squad.
Despite already having Cedric Soares and Yan Valery at the club, Southampton are now curiously being linked with another right back in January.
The Daily Mail report that Southampton boss Hasenhuttl is keen on Olympiakos ace Elabdellaoui, with the Saints’ interest described as ‘serious’.
Elabdellaoui, 27, has already had two spells in England with Manchester City and Hull City, but has really made a name for himself in Greece with Olympiakos.
A Norwegian international with 34 caps to his name, Elabdellaoui is quick and smart on the ball, whilst he can also push forward to play on the right of midfield if needed.
A deal for Elabdellaoui would though raise questions about Cedric’s future, as having three right backs in the first team squad would be strange to say the least.
