According to The Mirror (02/08, p64), Southampton are hoping to finalise the signing of Tottenham Hotspur right back Kyle Walker-Peters this week.
It’s claimed that the Saints are hoping to rush through a deal because West Ham United are making a late challenge for his signature.
David Moyes is thought to be a big fan of Walker-Peters, and will try to hijack his move to Southampton if David Gold and David Sullivan give him the funds.
Walker-Peters is allegedly valued at around £12million, though Southampton are in pole position having taken him on loan this year.
Tottenham want to land Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emille Hojbjerg, and talks are ‘well advanced’ between the two clubs over both deals.
Walker-Peters looks likely to head to Southampton permanently, and Hojbjerg would head the other way to Tottenham in a deal worth around £18million.

West Ham are a threat though, as they can offer to keep Walker-Peters in London whilst handing him playing time in the right back spot.
Add in that Sky Sports claim Southampton fancy West Ham right back Ryan Fredericks, and this transfer merry-go-round could take some twists and turns yet.
