Sheffield United have had a £10 million bid rejected for Nottingham Forest’s Matty Cash while Southampton and West Ham are also considering offers for the highly-rated right-back, according to the Telegraph.
Sabri Lamouchi’s Forest might have imploded on the final day of the Championship season, dropping out of the play-offs with just minutes of the season, but the Frenchman still deserves huge credit after a fine debut season at the City Ground.
Lamouchi transformed an often underachieving side into genuine promotion contenders at the first time of asking.
And, in hindsight, his decision to turn Cash into an inconsistent winger into a rampaging right-back was nothing short of a masterstroke.
If you ignore Luke ‘the Lambeth Cafu’ Ayling, Cash was perhaps the finest right-sided defender in the Championship last season, producing eight goals and assists from a deeper role.

In an ideal world, Forest would keep the 22-year-old at the City Ground for one more campaign as they look to right the wrongs of 2019/20.
But with interest from the Premier League rising, there is a very real chance that the Midland giants may be forced to Cash in on Matty.
Sheffield United have had a £10 million offer rejected for a player who looks perfectly suited to that wing-back role in Chris Wilder’s 3-5-2 system.
It is no secret, meanwhile, that both Southampton and West Ham want a new right-back too, with Cash lined up to replace Kyle Walker-Peters or Pablo Zabaleta in the top-flight.
