Southampton are keen to sign Poland international Kamil Jozwiak this summer, with Lech Poznan ready to accept offers of just £3.5 million, according to Deich Stube.
After a couple of big-money, experimental signings blew up in their faces, the Saints appear to have gone back to their roots.
What we mean by that is that Southampton are once again scouring mainland Europe for exciting, under-the-radar talents who can be snapped up on the cheap.
The South Coast club have already agreed a deal to sign Mohammed Salisu, a 20-year-old defender from Real Valladolid.
And Jozwiak, a jet-heeled winger with an eye for goal, feels like a signing from their Mauricio Pochettino heyday.
The 22-year-old forward has outgrown the relatively small pond that it Ekstraklasa football, producing nine goals and seven assists in 2019/20.
DeichStube reports that Jozwiak has been lined up to replace Werder Bremen talisman Milot Rashica in the Premier League, although the chance to play under a coach who coaxed the very best out of Danny Ings, Timo Werner, Nathan Redmond and more should hold plenty of appeal.
After all, Jozwiak’s direct, dynamic style means he is pretty much tailor-made for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s energetic, counter-attacking football.
The report adds that Lech Poznan could listen to offers of just £3 million, seven months after Jozwiak saw a January move to Derby County fall through (Wyborcza).
