The Denmark Under-19 international helped Huddersfield to a 0-0 draw against Manchester City in front of Southampton representatives.
Huddersfield Town’s Philip Billing has a goal ruled out for offside
Southampton scouted Huddersfield Town midfielder Philip Billing on Saturday, a report in Tuesday’s Sun newspaper (page 52) claims.
The six-foot-five-inch Dane helped the Terriers to an impressive 0-0 draw against Manchester City, securing a replay against the Premier League side in a week’s time.
And Billing could be playing the likes of Pep Guardiola’s men more often next season, whether Huddersfield are promoted or not.
Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace have previously been credited with interest in the 20-year-old, for whom the Sun reports Southampton are now eyeing a move.
The Saints sold Victor Wanyama to Spurs last summer and have at times missed the Kenyan’s presence in central midfield.

And despite having only 28 senior appearances to his name, Billing has the potential to fill Saints’ Wanyama void long-term.
The former Esbjerg youngster, who is under contract until 2020 in Yorkshire, has scored two goals and created another for the Terriers to date.
Would Hudderfield’s Philip Billing be a good addition for Southampton?
