Southampton could launch a big move for Joakim Maehle.

According to the Daily Mail, Southampton are preparing to launch a £10million move for Genk right back Joakim Maehle before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The Saints have predominantly focused on moving players out this month, having offloaded Wesley Hoedt, Cedric Soares, Steven Davis and Manolo Gabbiadini.
Having let Cedric move on to Inter Milan this week, Southampton may now look for another right back before the January transfer window shuts in order to compete with youngster Yan Valery.
One name linked is Genk’s Maehle, with the Daily Echo reporting last week that a summer move for the Dane could be completed rather than pursuing him this month.
However, the Daily Mail claim that the landscape may have changed, as Southampton are now preparing to offer £10million to sign Maehle this week rather than waiting.
Maehle, 21, emerged with AaB in his homeland before heading on to Genk in 2017, and he has flourished in his 18 months in Belgium so far.

A tall right back at 6ft 1in tall, Maehle also has blistering pace and strong technical ability, meaning he could develop into the total package.
Add in that Southampton already have fellow Danes in Jannik Vestergaard and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and a move to the South Coast could be ideal for Maehle, it just depends whether it will be this month or this summer.
