Southampton are reportedly keen on Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong.
According to The Express, Southampton are willing to offer Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong a deal worth around £30,000-a-week as they weigh up a bid to sign him.
Armstrong, 25, emerged as one of Scottish football’s top young players with Dundee United, and his displays earned him a move to Celtic in February 2015.

The midfielder blew hot and cold under Ronny Deila, notching just six goals in 56 games for the Bhoys, but Brendan Rodgers has got the best out of Armstrong, guiding him to a 17-goal season from midfield.
Now a key player for Celtic and Scotland, Armstrong has enjoyed a remarkable 12 months thanks to Rodgers’ influence – and he is attracting major interest during this summer’s transfer window.
The Express report that Southampton are keen to land Armstrong, and are prepared to offer him a contract worth around £30,000-a-week in order to seal a deal, with the Saints hoping to tempt Celtic into a deal given that he’s in the final 12 months of his contract.
Southampton have raided Celtic regularly in recent years, signing Fraser Forster, Victor Wanyama and Virgil van Dijk from the Bhoys, and they may now look to do it again with Armstrong.

Saints scouts are understood to have watched Armstrong on a number of occasions for club and country last season, and the appointment of a new manager doesn’t appear to have halted their pursuit of Armstrong.
Mauricio Pellegrino will be looking for new additions ahead of his first Premier League season as a manager, and Armstrong could bring goals and creativity to the Southampton midfield – if they can convince Celtic to sell.
