Southampton and Leicester City are reportedly pursuing Swansea City winger Modou Barrow.
Swansea City’s Modou Barrow looks dejected
According to The Mirror, Southampton are lining up a move for Swansea City winger Modou Barrow – but face competition from Premier League rivals Leicester City.
Barrow, 24, joined Swansea from Swedish side Ostersunds in the summer of 2014, and after loan spells with Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers, the winger has started to impress in the Premier League this season.
The Gambian international has notched two assists this season, and has flashed real ability this term, particularly against Arsenal as he ran defender Nacho Monreal ragged last month with his blistering pace out wide.
Unfortunately, Barrow’s promising performances haven’t been able to help Swansea get away from trouble in the Premier League table, as the sit bottom of the league and five points adrift of safety.

With Bob Bradley’s men seemingly heading towards relegation, clubs may be eyeing up some of their more impressive players – and that appears to be the case with wide man Barrow.
The Mirror report that Southampton are lining up a move to sign Barrow in a deal which could cost a huge £15m, having been interested in signing him over the summer as well as they look to add even more pace to an attack which already consists of Sofiane Boufal and Nathan Redmond.

It’s claimed that Saints boss Claude Puel is a huge fan of Barrow, having been interested in taking him to former club Nice before his move to Swansea, and wants to finally work with him on the South Coast, but they won’t be alone in the race for his signature, as Leicester City are also believed to be keen.
Swansea may not want to sell Barrow in January, but they’ll know that Barrow’s value could drop upon relegation, meaning a big bid from Leicester or Southampton could be enough to tempt the Swans into a deal.
