Turkey’s Cenk Tosun shoots
According to reports in Turkey Southampton have opened proceedings toward the potential transfer of Turkish striker Cenk Tosun.
It is reported by Sporx that Southampton have sent negotiators to Turkey to discuss his potential signing. The fee they are willing to pay is reported to be in the region of £10 million for the Turkey international. Talks have already been held with Tosun’s agent and the hope is a deal can be done in the weeks to come.
Tosun has been in fine form for club and country this season, scoring 23 goals in 46 appearances throughout 2016-17.
The 25-year-old, who was born and raised in Germany, has been linked with plenty of other English teams. Tottenham, West Ham and Stoke have all been linked with a player that talkSPORT said was being valued at around £17 million in March.

Southampton may therefore need to improve their offer for the player, who will undoubtedly relish the chance to play in England.
But if Southampton can get him for somewhere between £10 and £17 million, they could have a bargain on their hands with Tosun’s recruitment.
