Everton are keen to snap up Sheffield United striker Daniel Jebbison, but they may now have to fend off a hijack attempt from Southampton.
That’s according to The Sun on Sunday (29/08, p61), who state that Southampton now want to sign Jebbison before the transfer deadline.
Even after signing Adam Armstrong and Armando Broja, Southampton are still pushing for more striking additions with Jebbison now wanted.
Everton’s move for Jebbison
Everton have been the favourites for Jebbison having offered £5million for the striker just a matter of days ago, as reported by TEAMtalk.
Sheffield United rejected that bid, but The Athletic state that Everton are expected to come back in with a new bid to try and seal the deal.
The Toffees even had Jebbison on trial in 2019, but chose not to give him a deal despite some Everton staff believing he should have been signed.

Who is Daniel Jebbison?
Jebbison, 18, was born in Canada but represents England at youth level having moved to the UK back in 2017.
A big, physical and yet mobile unit at 6ft 3in, Jebbison made his first Premier League start back in May, ironically against Everton, and he scored at Goodison Park.
Compared to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jebbison appears to be a big talent for the future, and Everton suddenly face a battle to sign him.
