Southampton are reportedly losing in the fight for Diamond Edwards’ signature.

According to the Daily Mail, Southampton have been pushing to sign Reading talent Diamond Edwards, but look set to miss out.
The Saints achieved Premier League survival with two games to spare after a strong run under Ralph Hasenhuttl following his appointment in December.
Southampton will now hope to avoid another relegation battle, and need better recruitment than in recent years, where they’ve really wasted money on poor signings.
Hasenhuttl has shown that he’ll promote young players though, and it seems that Southampton have been attempting to bring a hot prospect ahead of the summer window.
The Daily Mail report that Southampton have been pushing to sign Reading youngster Diamond Edwards, but look set to miss out.
That’s because Edwards allegedly wants a move abroad, with teams in France, Germany, Italy and Spain all interested in luring him away from the Madejski Stadium.

Jadon Sancho has given English youngsters the inspiration go out and test themselves abroad, and Edwards now looks set to follow suit and leave Southampton disappointed in the process.
The 16-year-old attacking midfielder has been making waves in the Reading ranks, and we may well see him popping in Europe soon, and seemingly not with Southampton.
