Southampton boss Mark Hughes is keen to bring in Liverpool’s Danny Ings on deadline day.

Southampton are in competition with Newcastle United and Crystal Palace for the Liverpool forward, who could leave today.
It is said that no formal offer has been made yet, but Southampton are believed to be at the head of the queue for the forward.
Ings has slipped down the pecking order at Liverpool after Daniel Sturridge’s impressive pre-season, and Jurgen Klopp is happy to let him depart.
Whether Ings would move to Southampton on loan or on a permanent deal still remains to be seen.

Liverpool were thought to be asking for big money for the one-time England international at the start of the transfer window, with the London Evening Standard suggesting he was valued at £20 million, but they are yet to find a buyer.
Ings has previously been a prolific Premier League scorer, but injury has disrupted his career in recent times, and he would arrive at Southampton with a point to prove.
