Southampton are reportedly eyeing up a move for Paris Saint-Germain man Hatem Ben Arfa.

According to reports from French publication Foot-Sur7, Premier League Southampton are considering a shock swoop for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Hatem Ben Arfa.
Following a torrid five-year spell in England, it looked like Ben Arfa had managed to successfully revive his career in France with Nice last season.
The attacker enjoyed a sensational campaign with Nice, scoring 17 goals in 34 appearances, and his contribution was crucial in guiding Les Aiglons to a fine 4th-placed finish in Ligue 1.

Such a wonderful run of form saw Ben Arfa earn a move to champions Paris Saint-Germain this summer and many felt that the attacker would finally prove himself at the biggest stage.
Unfortunately though, Ben Arfa has not enjoyed the best of starts at the Parc des Princes and he has clearly not managed to impress boss Unai Emery.
Having handed Ben Arfa only 152 minutes of action in Ligue 1 so far, Emery has not selected the enigmatic attacker in his last three match-day squads and it seems like the relationship between the two has become strained over the past few weeks.

As a result, Ben Arfa is being linked with a move away from Paris already and now according to reports from French outlet, Foot-Sur7, Premier League outfit Southampton are eyeing up a surprise swoop for the 29-year-old.
Southampton boss Claude Puel knows Ben Arfa very well from their time together at Nice and the 55-year-old was the man who got the best out of the ex-Newcastle United star last season.
Puel is aware of Ben Arfa’s current predicament at PSG and the report claims that the Southampton boss is currently plotting a move to bring the attacker to the St. Mary’s Stadium during the January transfer window.
