Southampton have reportedly joined the race to sign Eberechi Eze, but they apparently face competition from Tottenham Hotspur for the youngster.

According to a report from The Sun, Southampton have joined Tottenham in the race to sign Eberechi Eze from Queens Park Rangers, with the Saints scouting the winger in midweek.
Eze is proving to be one of the most exciting talents in the Championship. He has scored two goals for Mark Warburton’s men this term, with his latest coming from a clever free-kick in the 3-1 victory over Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
Unfortunately for the Hoops, it appears that they are going to face a fight to keep the 21-year-old in January if his current form continues over the coming months.
The Sun reports that Spurs are interested, and Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men have joined the battle to sign Eze, with Ross Wilson attending QPR’s clash with Swansea at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium to watch Eze during the week.

The report notes that Southampton would be able to afford a move for Eze, and he ticks another box being a domestic signing.
Eze decision for Eberechi?
Joining the Saints will surely be an attractive option for any youngster in the EFL attracting attention and considering making the step up to the highest level.

Hasenhuttl has an impressive track record when it comes to developing players, and he appears to be working his magic on some of the members of the Southampton squad who had under-performed under Mark Hughes, Mauricio Pellegrino or Claude Puel.
Eze is showing glimpses of his frightening potential, and it is no surprise that he is gaining top flight admirers. And St Mary’s could be the perfect place for the starlet to take his game to the next level should the Saints follow up on their initial interest.
