According to Sportowefakty, Southampton are looking at signing reported Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur target Michal Karbownik this summer.
The Legia Warsaw teenager has been heavily linked with a move.
A report by the Mirror (26/04, page 68) claims Tottenham Hotspur have tracked the versatile fullback for over a year ahead of a potential summer move.
Celtic, meanwhile, have been linked by the Daily Record. The Scottish editorial claim The Bhoys see him as a long-term replacement for Kieran Tierney who joined Arsenal last summer.
The Scottish Premiership champions signed Jagiellonia Bialystok forward Patryk Klimala in January, and may head back to the Ekstraklasa to move for Karbownik.
But the latest reports from Poland claim Southampton have joined the race.
The Saints sent scouts to watch Legia face Lech Poznan in action. Kamil Jozwiak and Karbownik were the two standout players the South Coast club were tracking.
Karbownik has enjoyed an excellent campaign despite the global health pandemic. The 19-year-old has six assists, despite predominantly featuring at left-back.
Sportowefakty go on to say that while no offers have been present, Legia value their fullback at £9 million while his management team see him as a future midfielder.
Tottenham have struggled in the fullback positions all season. Danny Rose joined Newcastle United on loan, while Ben Davies is a safe but hardly inspiring choice.
Spurs may see Karbownik as a long-term solution. Celtic, however, could offer him first-team football right away while the Saints aren’t afraid to give youth a chance.
