The Saints goalkeeper impressed for Radhi Jaidi’s Under-23s last term.

Southampton goalkeeper Harry Lewis has emerged as a loan transfer target for League One side Burton Albion, according to the Derby Telegraph.
The Brewers missed out on Bradley Collins – who had a bright loan spell at the Pirelli Stadium from Chelsea – following his permanent move to Barnsley and as such they are believed to be looking elsewhere.
The report states that Burton have been in touch with two Premier League clubs over possible loan deals for a keeper to provide support for Stephen Bywater – the only stopper on their books with first-team experience – and Callum Hawkins.
Southampton have loaned two players to the Staffordshire club last season, with Jake Flannigan and Jake Hesketh joining in August, and while the former was unfortunately dogged by persistent injury troubles, the latter impressed for the Brewers.
However, Hesketh ended up being recalled by the Saints and loaned out to MK Dons amid criticism from Burton boss Nigel Clough and some fans from both sides – the Brewers faithful were gutted to lose his services, while the Southampton supporters were upset to see their player drop down a league.

Although that is very much the nature of the beast when it comes to the loan market, could Southampton potentially favour Burton over other teams in terms of Lewis joining them, as a goodwill gesture and to emphasise that relations between the two clubs are fine?
Lewis is undoubtedly a talented goalkeeper, having impressed for Southampton’s Under-23s last season and spending time on loan at Scottish Championship side Dundee United the year before, so he would definitely be a coup for the Brewers should the reports be true.
