The Monaco ace has been attracting attention from Southampton this month.

According to Sky Sports, the Saints have finally agreed a fee with Monaco for Guido Carrillo, as Mauricio Pellegrino looks to bolster his attacking options at St Mary’s.

Southampton have really struggled in front of goal this season, and their tally of just 24 goals scored in the 24 Premier League games they have played is the eighth lowest total in the division.

Whether the 26-year-old is the man to help fire them up the table, though, is debatable.

Carrillo has scored just four goals in 15 Ligue 1 appearances this season, although 13 of those outings have come from the substitutes bench.

The Argentine is a lively forward, and is renowned for making tireless runs into the channels – something that would make him the ideal strike partner for either Manolo Gabbiadini or Shane Long.

Sky Sports claim that he could be arriving on the south coast shortly, after the Saints agreed a £19.1 million fee with Monaco to sign the striker this month.

Personal terms are still yet to be agreed, however, so this will be one for Southampton fans to keep a close eye on.
