Southampton are keen to bring contract-rebel Thomas Strakosha to the Premier League after scouting the Lazio shot-stopper in recent months, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.
With Fraser Forster and Alex McCarthy sharing goalkeeping duties between them since the turn of the year, it doesn’t take a genius to work out that Ralph Hasenhuttl is undecided about who should be his first-choice between the sticks at St Mary’s.
Bringing in Strakosha, an athletic Albanian international, could go some way to solving that particular problem.
TMW reports that, after scouting the Athens-born 26-year-old for a prolonged period of time, the Saints are now planning a summer swoop for a man who is expected to be placed on the transfer list by Lazio.
This season has hardly been a stellar one for Strakosha.
He has started just one Serie A match since January, having lost his place to the veteran Pepe Reina at the Stadio Olimpico.

Speaking to the Guardian recently, the Southampton target spoke in glowing terms about English football.
Was this a classic case of a wantaway player – Strakosha has also been linked with West Ham – placing himself front and centre in the proverbial shop window?
It remains to be seen, however, if Southampton are willing to pay a club-record fee for a man who will be available for nothing in a year.
