Premier League outfit Southampton paid huge fees for Sofiane Boufal and Guido Carrillo but the duo are not on loan at La Liga clubs.

Southampton fans might have thought they had seen the last of Guido Carrillo and Sofiane Boufal. But maybe not.
Despite being the two of the biggest signings in the club’s history, Carillo and Boufal both struggled to live up to expectations at St Mary’s and were sent out on loan to Spain in the summer transfer window.
Peruvian striker Carrillo, a £19 million signing from Monaco 12 months ago, is once again working under Mauricio Pellegrino at Leganes, scoring five goals in 16 La Liga starts.
Erratic winger Boufal, meanwhile, has been in and out of the Celta Vigo team as he struggles to justify the £16 million Southampton paid Lille for his services in 2016.
But, according to The Mirror (24 January, page 61), Ralph Hasenhuttl will give the big-money flops a second chance to prove themselves at St Mary’s.

“Ralph’s going to take a look at them,” chairman Ralph Krueger said. “There’s no 100 percent guarantee that they would be sold in the summer or not. They will come back, and we will re-evaluate them.
“Both players deserve that opportunity and when we feel the time is right to sell, we will sell.”
Hasenhuttl has not been afraid to get rid of the deadwood since taking over from Mark Hughes, discarding Wesley Hoedt, Steven Davis and Manolo Gabbiadini.
Though it seems that the former RB Leipzig boss with at least offer Boufal and Carrillo a clean slate. Although there is no suggestuion that the two attackers will have their current loans cancelled midway through the season.
