Southampton reportedly bid for the talismanic Dutch striker.

Southampton have submitted a “strong” bid for Wolfsburg hitman Bas Dost, according to El Desmarque.
The Dutch striker admitted to Helden last week that he would be interested in joining the Saints, who had been credited with an interest in the 27-year-old.

And El Desmarque have claimed today that Dost has an offer from England, going on to suggest that a substantial bid has been lodged by the South Coast club.
But Southampton could have competition as the report goes on to state that he also has proposals from clubs in Germany, Turkey and Spain.
It further explains that roughly £6 million could be enough to prise him away from the Bundesliga outfit.

The speculation comes when Southampton hitman Graziano Pelle has been linked with a move away and Dost might well be his replacement at St Mary’s.
Dost, whose contract expires next summer, netted eight times in 14 Bundesliga starts last season, and 16 in 17 league starts in the 2014-15 campaign, according to ESPN.
