Tottenham Hotspur aren’t in great form under Mauricio Pochettino right now.

According to the Daily Mail, sources close to Mauricio Pochettino have suggested that the Tottenham Hotspur boss is still bothered by the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool.
Pochettino guided Tottenham to an unlikely place in the final after easing past Dortmund and then conjuring up dramatic wins over Manchester City and Ajax.
In the final, Pochettino’s side met Liverpool. They had pulled off a dramatic result of their own by coming from 3-0 down to beat Barcelona 4-3, and they went into the game as favourites.
Unsurprisingly, Jurgen Klopp’s side ran out Champions League final winners in Madrid, with Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi scoring to secure a 2-0 win.
Tottenham have made a patchy start to the season, already dropping 10 points, and it’s now claimed that the Champions League final defeat is still lingering on Pochettino’s mind.
It may take another series of miraculous events to get back to the Champions League final with Tottenham, and Pochettino may well feel he got as close as he’ll ever come to lifting the trophy.

Hopefully the Spurs boss can turn that into inspiration to get back there rather than concern about never returning, but it’s understandable that he would still be gutted that his side came within touching distance of winning the Champions League.
Liverpool and Tottenham meet again for the first time since that final next month, and hopefully Pochettino can exorcise some demons by winning that game – but the real answer may be to win a trophy and put that Champions League final defeat to bed.
