The Athletic have been told that there is a genuine possibility that Christian Eriksen joins Tottenham Hotspur this month.
Eriksen has been heavily linked with Spurs in recent weeks, but information has been rather unclear.
Some claims have suggested that Tottenham aren’t keen on the playmaker, but the Italian press have continuously stated that they are.
And the Athletic back up those claims, saying that they have been told there is a ‘small possibility’ that it does happen.
Tottenham’s interest in doing a deal with Inter Milan appears to be genuine, in what would be a huge twist of events.
Eriksen, who Dele Alli described as ‘unbelievable’ (AS), only left Tottenham a year ago, but the Athletic say he was actually offered back to them over the summer.
The Dane’s time at Inter has simply not gone according to plan, and a move back to Spurs may actually appeal to him now, as he looks to return to playing regular football again.
If Eriksen was to move back to Spurs he would have a point to prove.
The creator’s form badly dipped in his final year at Tottenham, and many supporters criticised him for the way he went about his exit.
