According to The Athletic, some West Ham players had become frustrated by Sébastien Haller’s lackadaisical approach.
It is mentioned in Roshane Thomas and David Ornstein’s report that there was an impression the Frenchman’s work rate in east London was lacking.
It is also said that Haller failed to live up to West Ham’s expectation of how he competed with defenders from a physical aspect.
This piece of information has arisen following the former Eintracht Frankfurt striker’s departure to Ajax.
The Dutch giants have signed Haller in a deal worth £20.25 million, where the 26-year-old penned a four-and-a-half-year contract in Amsterdam.

This meant that the Hammers took a significant loss on the forward who cost them £45 million in 2019.
One source tells The Athletic that Hallers was not a David Moyes striker, and was axed with the Scot looking to rebuild his Irons XI.
The former Manchester United boss prefers to play with someone like Michail Antonio up top, who sets the tone for the whole team.

In our view, while it’s slightly embarrassing to take such a big hit on your club-record signing, West Ham have done the right thing.
While Haller is stuck on the bench behind Antonio, his value is only going to decrease, so the Hammers have been shrewd to cash in.
In doing so, at least Moyes will have some more funds to sign players he actually wants at the London Stadium.
