Tottenham Hotspur still have Lewis Dunk and Nikola Milenkovic on their radar heading into the summer transfer window, Football London report.

Tottenham are on the hunt for a new centre-back, and the two names are mentioned on a potential shortlist of candidates.

Football London say that Brighton & Hove Albion defender Dunk, who has been labelled as ‘unbelievable’ by teammate Ben White to Gaffer, still has admirers at Tottenham before the transfer window, although at the age of 30, he may be too old for a move.

The report also claims that Fiorentina man Milenkovic, who is valued at £25 million (CalcioMercato) is a potential option for the North London club.

Intriguingly though, Spurs need to sell before they bring in either of their defensive targets.

It could be that most of Tottenham’s early business this summer is outgoings, as they try to raise funds for incoming additions.

What should Spurs do?

There is an argument for and against both Dunk and Milenkovic signing for Tottenham.

Dunk would offer Spurs leadership and experience, but he is reaching the twilight of his career now, and has never played for a club with such ambitions as Spurs.

It would be a tough ask for Dunk to step up level at this stage of his career, but the likelihood of the signing could increase if Graham Potter arrives as manager.

Milenkovic, meanwhile, has no Premier League experience – and it is questionable whether he would be an immediate upgrade on what they already have.

Spurs desperately need to ensure that they bring in the right central defender this summer, as they cannot have another season of failing to find a trusted pairing at the back, if they want to be successful.
