Some Newcastle United players are hoping that Eddie Howe gets the job, according to the Daily Mail.
Eddie Howe to Newcastle?
Callum Wilson, Matt Ritchie and Ryan Fraser all worked with Howe at Bournemouth earlier in their careers, and a reunion with the 43-year-old at St. James’ Park is said to appeal to the trio.
They may well get their wish too, with Howe, who has been described as a ‘special’ manager by his former player Brett Pitman (Daily Echo). now the clear favourite to get the job.
The Magpies had initially looked at Unai Emery, but after his rejection, it seems that Howe is now the main candidate to replace Steve Bruce.
Boost for Fraser?
That could benefit Fraser the most out of the aforementioned players in particular.

Fraser has struggled since his move to Newcastle, and has failed to really nail down a position.
Under Howe he was a major threat though, when he created 14 assists in a season back in the 2018/19 campaign.
If he could get the Scotsman back to his best then it would be a major help to Newcastle’s attacking play.
And the fact that Howe is still so well regarded by his former players surely speaks volumes about the level of his coaching ability.
