Leeds United travelled to Australia as part of their pre-season preparations, but Marcelo Bielsa only took a small squad with him.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, some players within the Leeds squad were understood to be unhappy to be left out of the side that Marcelo Bielsa took with him to Australia for their recent pre-season trip.
The Whites travelled Down Under last month to take on Manchester United in Perth and Western Sydney Wanderers in the opening game inside Bankwest Stadium. Bielsa only took a 16-man squad for the tour, including a number of young players: Kamil Miazek, Bryce Hosannah, Clarke Oduor, Jordan Stevens and Mateusz Bogusz.
Meanwhile, a number of players set for first-team roles during the coming season were left behind to continue working at Thorp Arch. Those players were also involved in a friendly against Tadcaster Albion.
And the Daily Mail suggests that there were some who were initially disappointed to be missing the trip to Australia – though it is also noted that no-one expressed any significant frustration about the decision as they trusted Bielsa’s thinking and planning.

There is no indication in the report about which players were disappointed to miss out. Of course, some of the first-team stars left behind are the obvious candidates, but some of the under-23 starlets may have also been a little frustrated to see some of their teammates go and get a golden chance to impress Bielsa.
Result-wise, it was an underwhelming tour for Leeds. But there were some impressive individual performances, with the likes of Bogusz, Pablo Hernandez and Jack Harrison all shining during the time away.
