According to The Athletic, there were signs of discontent among Crystal Palace players when Patrick Vieira introduced double training sessions.

What’s the story?

Well, the Frenchman has taken things up a gear since replacing Roy Hodgson.

Vieira has introduced double training sessions in order to get his philosophy drilled into the players.

It seems to be working after the Eagles hammered Tottenham on Saturday, although it doesn’t sound as if everyone was happy at first.

The Athletic claim there was a negative reaction to the double sessions at first, although Vieira was quick to nip that in the bud before it worsened.

Now, the players can surely have no arguments, as Vieira led them to what was arguably their most dominant Premier League performance ever.

Will Patrick Vieira succeed at Crystal Palace?

In our view, the 45-year-old has a great chance of succeeding at Selhurst Park.

Vieira is clearly a strong manager, as seen in his response to players expressing discontent at his double training sessions.

The Frenchman also seems like a good leader.

When interviewed by BT Sport after the win over Spurs, Vieira was quick to allow praise to filter down.

When Odsonne Edouard was praised, Vieira highlighted Christian Benteke’s efforts in helping the Eagles get the win.

When he was praised for the signing of Conor Gallagher, Vieira was again quick to aim the adulation in Dougie Freedman’s favour.

If Crystal Palace keep playing like they did against Tottenham, the ex-Arsenal colossus will be a hero in south London in no time.
