According to Football London, some in Spain have been left confused by Tottenham Hotspur’s decision to loan Bryan Gil to Valencia.

The report states that Spurs’ decision to let the winger go in January has led to plenty of head-scratching over in Spain, and it’s not hard to understand why.

The winger has been absolutely brilliant in La Liga since leaving Spurs on loan. Sport have even described him as Valencia’s most outstanding player.

Gil is certainly shining back in his home country, and we can only hope that this run of form will give him the confidence to come back and make an impact at Spurs.

Those in Spain can’t understand the reasoning behind loaning Gil out, but it looks as though their plan is coming together.

Gil didn’t look like a star in the making at Spurs, but now, his development already seems to be back on track, and this opportunity to play regular first-team football will give Tottenham the chance to analyse the Spaniard and give the winger a chance to rediscover the form and confidence that earned him his move to the Premier League in the first place.

Valencia are certainly the beneficiaries of Spurs’ decision to let Gil go, but in the long-term, this loan move could be advantageous for Tottenham.
