Some at Tottenham Hotspur have concerns over appointing Ralph Hasenhuttl, the Athletic have suggested.

Hasenhuttl is a genuine candidate to takeover from Jose Mourinho at Tottenham if the Portuguese boss does depart.

However, the Southampton manager is famed for his intense style and there are apparently concerns about how he would go down with in the Tottenham dressing room.

Spurs obviously have higher profile players than Southampton, who may not be as willing to adapt to his methods.

Hassenhuttl has had great success at Southampton though, with his style of play particularly enticing for many Spurs fans.

The Austrian encourages a high pressing style, and likes his team to play on the front foot – which is very different from the tactics which Mourinho has often deployed.

Hassenhuttl is far less proven than Mourinho though, and he would be taking a big step up by managing Spurs.
