Aston Villa are eyeing up a double deal for Callum Wilson and Ollie Watkins, the Express & Star report.
Villa don’t want just one player signed up-front this summer, they are planning to bolster their attack by bringing in two new front-men.
That could give Dean Smith some impressive options in attack, with Wesley set to return from injury sooner rather than later.
Villa badly struggled for goals from their strikers last term, but the arrival of Watkins and Wilson would give them some serious firepower.
Watkins scored 26 times at Championship level last term for Brentford and bringing him in alongside a proven performer like Wilson could prove to be a smart move.
Wilson, who is valued at £30 million (Daily Mail), has Premier League pedigree and he could help take some of the pressure off Watkins to arrive at hit the ground running, if they do join at the same time.
Smith’s side don’t get their season underway until the 20th September, when they take on Sheffield United.
