Aston Villa boss Dean Smith will turn his attentions to signing a midfielder, a right-back and a central defender after landing a striker, according to the Express and Star.
Villa are on the hunt for Ollie Watkins and once that deal is sorted, he wants another three further additions.
Smith’s side only narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League last term, and they have ambitions to be well away from the drop zone this time around.
Smith apparently feels that Villa need additions in multiple positions, as they aim to increase the quality available to them.
Villa wanting a midfielder is no real surprise, as they could do with bolstering their options in the position.
Douglas Luiz and John McGinn look likely starters for Villa, but there is a gap available next to them.
The claret and blues also had the second worst defensive record of any side in the Premier League last season, so their desire to bring in two new defenders is understandable.
