Aston Villa want to focus on completing the signing of a striker once they have pushed through a deal for Emi Martinez, the Telegraph report.

Villa are closing in on a deal to land Martinez in the near future, with Dean Smith’s side hoping that the Arsenal stopper can be their new number one.

Villa will then concentrate on bringing in even more attacking additions, with Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard and Bournemouth’s Josh King in their sights.

Villa have already spent big to sign Ollie Watkins this summer, but Smith appears to want to add another striker to his ranks this summer.

Whether that suggests that Villa could now play in a system which involves two strikers remains to be seen.

If they were to land Edouard he could be yet another exciting addition to their front-line.

Edouard scored prolifically for Celtic last term, but the Daily Mail say that he is now valued at £40 million.

King could prove a cheaper option than that, as he has just one year left on his current deal with Bournemouth.
