According to the Daily Mail, Slavia Prague goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar will miss tonight’s game against Arsenal.
It’s claimed that Kolar has suffered a significant shoulder injury in training whilst attempting to save a shot from Nicolae Stanciu.
Kolar left the training session with assistance from medical staff, and Kolar will now be ruled out tonight in a late boost for Arsenal.
The 26-year-old only has only just returned from a fractured skull sustained against Rangers last month, and was wearing Petr Cech-style protective head gear in training.
Now, Kolar has picked up another injury, and it looks like he will miss the game barring a miraculous recovery or some painkilling injections.
That means Jan Stejskal is likely to start the game, and Slavia’s loss is Arsenal’s gain, as losing such a key player just hours before kick off is a huge blow.
West Ham may not be happy either; they have long been linked with Kolar, going back to December from The Athletic and up to his week from Ruik.
The Hammers may have wanted to see Kolar in action against Arsenal as part of their analysis on the goalkeeper, but that won’t be happening.
If Kolar is indeed out of action, Arsenal will feel very good about their chances of advancing to the semi-finals.
