West Ham United have been linked with a move for Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini in January.
According to a report in the Daily Star, West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic is having doubts over completing a move for Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini.
It has been suggested that West Ham may buy Simone Zaza from Juventus, purely to offer him as part of a trade deal for Gabbiadini.
West Ham can buy Zaza for £20 million, as part of a pre-arranged clause in his loan deal, and there was a thought that Bilic’s side would buy the Italian international purely to increase their chances of signing Gabbiadini.
However, Bilic now reportedly doubts whether the Napoli man is the right fit for West Ham.
The Hammers struggled to select the correct players to improve the quality of their squad in the summer transfer window, and Bilic is determined to make sure the next additions he makes have a more positive impact at the London Stadium.
Gabbiadini has scored twice in 12 appearances for Napoli this season, with West Ham regularly scouting the 24-year-old.
Bilic, himself, has reportedly kept an eye on the forward – but has not seen enough to convince him to do a deal.
As a result, Bilic intends to weigh up the transfer before making a final decision, but it may be that West Ham look elsewhere in the January transfer window.
