According to a report from BBC Sport, Slaven Bilic is interested in speaking to Celtic about the manager’s job this summer with Neil Lennon’s Parkhead future still up in the air.

Lennon has kept the Hoops on course to win the domestic Treble after taking charge of the club in the wake of Brendan Rodgers’ departure for Leicester City earlier in the year.

But following Celtic’s defeat to Rangers at the weekend, the Northern Irishman’s position looks slightly precarious. Some of the football on show has not been the most exciting, and Celtic have needed a handful of late goals to pick up some of their wins along the way.

BBC Sport reports that Bilic is keen to speak to the Celtic hierarchy about the job, though it is not clear at this stage whether he is in the running for the post having struggled since the latter stages of his tenure with West Ham.

Bilic initially started superbly at the Boleyn Ground, leading the Hammers to seventh place. But the writing had appeared to be on the wall some time before he was finally let go in November 2017.

Since then, he had a brief stint in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad, but he was sacked after just 15 games in charge. However, having enjoyed some success earlier in his managerial career – particularly with the Croatian national team – perhaps he may be a name that the board do decide to consider should they choose to let Lennon leave.
