West Ham United are currently in 16th place in the Premier League table.

According to the Daily Mirror, West Ham United’s players were left mystified by Slaven Bilic’s actions following their defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion last Friday.

West Ham were humiliated in their last match, as they lost 3-0 at home to newly promoted Brighton.

And Bilic reportedly felt that he was going to be sacked, following the heavy defeat.

The Croatian is said to have said goodbye to to West Ham’s players, and shaken their hands, rather than reading them the riot act.

Bilic reportedly expected to exit the London Stadium after the shock defeat.

However, West Ham have stuck by Bilic – and the players have apparently been left confused by his actions.

Even though Bilic has avoided the sack after the defeat to Brighton, he is still under a considerable amount of pressure.

West Ham take on Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup tonight, and a defeat would only increase the calls for Bilic to be sacked.
