Birmingham trialist Simeon Slavchev wants to make his move from Sporting Lisbon permanent.

Birmingham City trialist Simeon Slavchev wants to make his move to the Championship club from Sporting Lisbon a permanent one, reports the Birmingham Mail.

Portuguese publication O Jogo outlines that the 23-year-old has no future under manager Jorge Jesus at Sporting – with the Primeira Liga team paying £2.2m for Slavchev back in 2014.

Since then the Bulgaria international has played just two times for the club, however, and has been sent out on loan to Bolton Wanderers, Apollon Limassol and Lechia Gdansk.

Slavchev played 45 minutes for the Blues while on trial on Saturday (July 22) in a friendly against Oxford United and boss Harry Redknapp said the midfielder “did well”.

There could be some problems with a permanent deal for the Bulgarian, though, with Sporting only actually owning 80% of his registration rights.

That is why, if he is to join Birmingham, another loan move would probably be the most likely outcome for Slavchev.
