Ivan Saponjic is open to a move to Celtic, amid interest from Neil Lennon’s side, Sky report.
Celtic have identified Saponjic as a potential attacking addition, as they seek to bolster their options up-front.
While Celtic are not in a position to make a move now, if Odsonne Edouard is to depart or Leigh Griffiths leaves, then the Atleti man could become a target.
Saponjic, himself, is believed to be willing to move to Britain, as he seeks more regular first-team action.
The Serbian target-man has played just twice for Atleti since moving to the La Liga outfit last term, but Celtic see him as first-team player.
Saponjic would offer Celtic more of an aerial presence, although he surely wouldn’t posses the goalscoring credentials to be a direct replacement for Edouard.
Saponjic has never before made it into double figures for the season, with his main asset being his ability to bring other into play.
Saponjic cost Atleti £7 million last summer (AS), and it remains to be seen if Diego Simeone’s side would want to recoup most that money or not.
