Tottenham Hotspur’s loan move for Gareth Bale may actually last for two years rather than one, Sky Sports have reported.

Bale has two years left on his Real Madrid contract, and he could be with Tottenham until that deal expires.

Sky say that the deal has an excellent chance of going through now, with Tottenham feeling that the transfer is ‘within their grasp’.

When the links initially broke, many Spurs fans remained sceptical over their chances of bringing back the Welshman.

But the reports rapidly became stronger and stronger, and there is now a widespread belief that Bale is coming back.

If he was to return for two years rather than one, then the deal could work out to be even better for Spurs.

At the age of 31, Bale still should have the ability to make a huge impact in the Premier League over the short-term.

His arrival will give Tottenham one of the most dangerous attacking forces in world football, and should lift the optimism levels at the North London club significantly.
