All the focus right now is on current Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane and his desire to leave, but what about Crotone hitman Simy?

Kane didn’t turn up to training on Monday as he looks to force an exit, and Fabio Paratici has to have striking options in mind.

Fans would be expecting a big-name addition if Kane does leave, and Crotone striker Simy certainly doesn’t fit that bill.

Still, The Telegraph report that Simy is on Paratici’s radar, though is viewed as more of a backup striker behind Kane rather than as his replacement.

The Nigerian hit 20 goals in Serie A last season but still suffered relegation to Serie B and now looks set for a move away from Crotone after 54 goals in the last three seasons.

An absolute giant at 6ft 6in tall, Simy isn’t a big name, he isn’t particularly fashionable, he’d hardly well-known outside of Italy, but he has just scored goal after goal for three years now.

Gianluca Di Marzio now reports that Mallorca want to sign Simy, and are willing tp pay around €3.5million – just £3million.

Simy would prefer to stay in Italy though, with Lazio and newly-promoted Salernitana keen to sign him in a cheap deal.

That price tag should be appealing to Paratici, and surely Simy’s desire to stay in Italy would be trumped if Tottenham offered him a big move to London – no question the biggest the transfer of his career.
