Newcastle United might offload the 28-year-old, according to a report.
According to The Chronicle, Siem De Jong has been added to the list of Newcastle United players who Rafael Benitez could move on, if a replacement can be signed before September.
The Netherlands international, a £6 million addition in 2014 under Alan Pardew, has featured regularly for Newcastle in pre season, prompting suggestions that Benitez would retain his services beyond the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old attacker had a decent loan spell at PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie last season, scoring six times in 19 appearances for Phillip Cocu’s side.
However, The Chronicle report that the Spanish manager could “perhaps” offload the Dutchman this summer, if “incoming recruitment goes well” before the window shuts.
De Jong has not had many chances to impress Benitez on the pitch, having been used sparingly when the Spaniard replaced Steve McClaren in March 2016, before being loaned out.
The former Ajax man, whose contract expires in 2020, is worth around £5 million, according to Transfermarkt.
