Sheffield Wednesday boss Steve Bruce is keen on being reunited with Sunderland’s Lee Cattermole.

Steve Bruce is hoping to sign Lee Cattermole for a third time in his career with Sheffield Wednesday interested in landing the midfielder on loan next season, according to a report from The Sun on Sunday (10/3; page 61).
Bruce has made a bright start to life with the Owls. Wednesday have won three and drawn five of their first eight games under the former Black Cats boss, with both Sheffield United and Derby County seeing their promotion hopes dealt a setback in their last two fixtures.
There appears to be too much work for Wednesday to do to sneak into the top six in the remaining weeks of the season. And Bruce himself seems to be switching some of his attention towards next season and the business that he would like to get done in the summer.
The Sun on Sunday (10/3; page 61) reports that Sheffield Wednesday are interested in loaning Cattermole from Sunderland, with the Owls prepared to pay a large portion of his wages to try and sweeten a potential bid.

The 30-year-old has been a key player for Jack Ross’s side this season. He has played 23 games and scored five goals for the League One promotion-chasers this term.
If he does end up heading to Hillsborough, it will be the third time that the combative midfielder has signed for Bruce, having joined him at Wigan and then Sunderland.
But given the style of play that Cattermole has become synonymous with without his career, it may be interesting to see what the Wednesday fans would make of the reports that he could be on the club’s radar.
