Garry Monk is returning to the Championship to replace Steve Bruce at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday are expected to hire Garry Monk as their new manager on Friday, according to The Mail.
It is almost two months since Steve Bruce walked away to take over his boyhood club Newcastle United, leaving The Owls in the lurch on the brink of the new Championship campaign.
Thankfully, caretaker boss Lee Bullen has won half of his six league games in charge, meaning Wednesday could take their time to identify the man capable of taking this proud old club forward.
And it seems that they have settled on Monk.
According to The Mail, the 40-year-old is set to be appointed today with a press conference scheduled for 4pm.
Monk may be a young manager at first glance but he has a wealth of experience on his CV, having spent time in charge of Swansea City, Middlesbrough, Leeds United and Birmingham City.

At Elland Road, he very nearly led Leeds to the play-offs for the first time in a decade, eventually finishing seventh, and he also did a fine job in testing circumstances at a cash-strapped and poorly-ran Birmingham.
With a squad full of proven Championship talent at his disposal, such as Kadeem Harris, Fernando Forrestieri and an in-form Steven Fletcher, Monk will be chomping at the bit as he looks to drag Sheffield Wednesday back to the big-time.
