Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly keen to sell Lucas Joao this summer, but want a hefty fee for the striker.

According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (7/4; page 61), Sheffield Wednesday hope to sell Lucas Joao this summer, but plan to hold out for a fee worth £8 million for the Portuguese.
Joao has enjoyed a decent season with the Owls, scoring nine goals in 26 Championship games. He has actually only started 15 times, and has not been involved since the win over Swansea City back in February due to injury.
And it appears that that could be one of his final appearances for Wednesday. The Sun on Sunday (7/4; page 61) reports that the Owls will consider selling the 25-year-old to help balance the books, but they want £8 million for his signature.
The report adds that Fernando Forestieri is another player that could be sold, and Wednesday are likely to demand a similarly-hefty fee for the 29-year-old, who came off the bench during Saturday’s defeat to Aston Villa.

Forestieri had previously looked to be the talisman that would guide Wednesday back to the Premier League, scoring 27 league goals across his first two years at Hillsborough.
His strike-rate remained outstanding last term, but he only managed 10 appearances, and has only scored four times in 20 Championship games this term.
Meanwhile, Joao has scored 18 goals over the last two seasons. It is a decent return, but it is not too difficult to understand why the Owls would be willing to let him go if a substantial bid comes in.
