Sheffield Wednesday will turn down a second offer from Leicester for George Hirst.

Sheffield Wednesday will reject a second bid from Leicester City for George Hirst, with the Foxes coming back after having their first six-figure offer also turned down – reports the Sheffield Star.

According to the Daily Mail the second attempt to sign Hirst was going to see Leicester bid around £2m, but the Star understands that is some way short of the real fee.

In fact the second offer from the 2015/16 Premier League champions is going to still be lower than £1m and Wednesday are getting ready to knock it back.

The Championship club have already rejected a £300,000 bid from Everton for Hirst this summer, with the 18-year-old gathering many admirers after an impressive season in 2016/17.

The forward scored 40 goals in all competitions at youth level for the Owls and England, helping the Under-20s national team win the Toulon Tournament in the process.

Hirst has entered the final year of his current contract at Hillsborough, but the south Yorkshire outfit are in discussions with his representatives about a new long-term deal.
