Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly keen on signing Aston Villa attacker Ross McCormack.
According to the Daily Mail, Sheffield Wednesday have joined the race to sign Aston Villa misfit Ross McCormack before next week’s transfer deadline.
McCormack, 30, made a huge £12million move (BBC Sport) to Aston Villa over the summer, as he left Fulham having hit 42 goals in 100 appearances for Championship side Fulham following a 2014 move from Leeds.

The Scot was seen as the proven Championship goalscorer that Villa needed to help them in their push for immediate promotion back to the Premier League, but McCormack has endured a nightmare start at Villa Park.
Not only has he notched just three goals and one assist this season, but McCormack has now been caught up in a stunning row with manager Steve Bruce having been left out of Saturday’s clash with Preston North End.

Bruce, as quoted by The Mirror, stated that McCormack wouldn’t be picked until his attitude changes, having missed training due to his ‘gates had stuck’, with the striker’s future now looking unclear.
The Daily Mail now report that Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing McCormack, though Villa’s position to recoup the £12million they spent has been weakened by Bruce’s outburst again his striker.
It’s stated that both Wednesday and Derby County would like to sign McCormack, but would rather take him on loan with a view to a permanent move rather than buy him immediately.
Given McCormack’s problems with attitude and fitness this season, that stance isn’t a huge surprise, but whether Villa are prepared to let him leave without getting a chunk of their money back remains to be seen.
