According to Sky Sports, Cardiff City have rejected a £3million bid from Sheffield Wednesday for centre back Sean Morrison.
Wednesday suffered heartache in the Championship play-offs for a second season in a row, as after losing 1-0 to Hull City in 2016’s final, they knocked out in the semi-finals by Huddersfield Town this time around.

Manager Carlos Carvalhal will hope it’s a case of third time lucky in his quest to take Wednesday back to the Premier League, but he will again be looking to splash the cash this summer in an attempt to win promotion in 2018.
Now, Sky Sports report that Wednesday have offered £3million to sign Cardiff City defender Sean Morrison – but the Bluebirds have quickly rejected that opening bid from the Owls.

Morrison, 26, started out with hometown club Plymouth Argyle and Swindon Town, before joining Reading in 2011, where he spent three years before signing for Cardiff City after two loan spells with Huddersfield Town.
The centre back has now racked up more than 100 appearances for Cardiff since his arrival, becoming a key part of their defence under a host of managers – and his displays appear to have attracted Wednesday’s interest.

With Vincent Sasso released, manager Carvalhal is left with Tom Lees and Glenn Loovens as his recognised centre backs, with midfielder Sam Hutchinson able to drop in there if needed.
Morrison would give Wednesday another option at the back, but whether the return with a new bid after Cardiff rejected their £3million offer remains to be seen.
