The Peruvian legend is currently a free agent after leaving Al Jazira.
It is being reported in Peru that Sheffield Wednesday are leading the race to sign the talented winger Jefferson Farfan on a free transfer.
El Bocon is reporting that the Owls are an option for the player – who is currently a free agent after leaving Al Jazira in October.
Jefferson Farfan celebrates
He was linked with Peruvian side Alianza Lima recently but apparently wants another crack in a major European league, with Wednesday said to be leading the race for his signature.
The report adds that Farfan is still in the Peruvian capital training on his own but hopes to complete a move to England.
Sheffield Wednesday fans will of course be very excited to hear of Farfan being a potential target.
Jefferson Farfan
The 32-year-old was a star of the PSV Eindhoven and Schalke 04 sides that performed well in Europe over the past ten years and his rapid pace and crossing ability made him feared across Europe.
But in recent years Farfan’s career has been blighted by injury problems and that trademark pace is not so present any more.
He would be a fantastic name to add to the Sheffield Wednesday ranks, but perhaps not the most sensible.
